Sree Sakthi Engineering College

Department of Civil Engineering

Construction is matter of optimism;
it’s a matter of facing
the future with confidence

Civil Engineering is considered to be the most versatile branch among all the engineering branches in our country. Civil Engineering involves planning, designing, constructing, supervising infrastructures which include facilities essential to modern life like highways, bridges, schools, airports and other buildings, sewage systems and water treatment facilities. Subsequently, the course also involves protecting the public and environmental health and improving existing infrastructure. This Programme prepares for their professional life technical skills embedded throughout the curriculum. The department pulls out all stops to create outstanding engineers with advanced techniques and learning aids for students. It is excellently suited to meet the ever-changing requirements of engineers with courses that combine the study of management, business skills.

M.Deepika graduated in Civil Engineering at Periyar Maniammai College of Technology for Women, and completed M.E. with the specialization of Structural Engineering at Excel Engineering College. I have 8 years of teaching experience. I am a Assistant Professor and Head of Civil Engineering, Sree Sakthi Engineering College, Karamadai, Coimbatore. I published 7 research publications and conferences in different fields like structural ,soil etc. My Area of specialization is project planning, concrete technology, fluids and surveying.

Civil engineers play a critical role in the construction of infrastructure. civil engineering is also about maintaining and adapting the infrastructure that we depend on every day – our roads, railways and bridges; energy and water supply; waste networks and flood defences. Civil engineers have to keep this infrastructure running effectively and adapt it to meet challenges, such as population growth, climate change and natural disasters. They must also find ways to deliver the infrastructure needed when there’s little money in the pot to pay for it. Put simply, civil engineers have to come up with solutions to complex problems and implement them; they literally shape the world we live in.

The road to success is
always under construction

The Civil Engineering Department will attain global recognition as a Commendable center for quality Engineering Education and Research; to equip the graduates to meet the sustainable development of Construction Industry for the betterment of the society.
