Overview

SSEC provides well-structured and comfortable hostel facilities for both boys and girls in separate buildings, ensuring privacy and a secure living environment. Each hostel room allows students to use their own computers and access high-speed Wi-Fi, supporting both academic and personal needs. The hostels feature a spacious mess with a modern dining hall and kitchen, offering separate seating arrangements for boys and girls. To enhance convenience, all hostels are equipped with solar water heaters, ensuring a steady supply of hot water throughout the day. The campus also emphasizes safety, cleanliness, and a supportive community atmosphere, making the hostel experience both comfortable and enriching for all students.

Note : Two majestic buildings are there in A & B Blocks in which 42 rooms allocated for students and 3 rooms for staff members in A-Block & in B-Block, 84 rooms for students and 5 rooms for staff members. Rooms with AC facility are also available in A Block.

Hostel Rules and Regulations – SSEC

  • All residents must return to the hostel on the college reopening date.
  • Only allotted residents are permitted inside the hostel; no outsiders are allowed.
  • Residents who allow outsiders into their rooms without permission will face strict disciplinary action, including possible expulsion from the hostel.
  • Students must occupy only the rooms allotted to them and are not permitted to transfer or exchange rooms with other residents.
  • Residents must not sleep in rooms assigned to others.
  • Students are advised to keep only minimal cash and low-value items in their rooms to prevent theft.
  • The hostel authorities are not responsible for any loss or theft of personal belongings. Residents must take necessary precautions to secure their items.
  • Day scholars are strictly prohibited from entering the hostel. Residents who allow day scholars inside their rooms will face disciplinary action.
  • Every hostel resident will be issued a Hostel Identity Card, which must be carried at all times and produced when requested by security or hostel officials.
  • Residents should avoid keeping expensive or valuable items inside the hostel premises.
  • Residents are expected to maintain decency in their attire at all times within the hostel.

In case of emergency, residents are informed to contact Warden / Dean / CEO for immediate assistance

Anyone falling sick is advised to inform Warden / Dean / CEO for immediate assistance before going to Hospital

MESS FACILITIES

Hostel Mess Rules – SSEC

  • Mess charges will be calculated on a sharing/dividing system.
  • Residents and their guests are not allowed to enter the kitchen without prior permission.
  • Residents must take their meals only in the mess allotted to them and strictly adhere to the prescribed mess timings.
  • Residents who waste food will be liable to a fine.
  • Residents leaving the hostel for Industrial Visits of three days or more will be eligible for a reduction in mess charges.
  • In case of emergency leave, residents must inform their absence either personally or through their parents via phone to the hostel information service. This enables the mess supervisor to apply for appropriate mess fee reduction. Upon return, a copy of the medical certificate and the college leave application form (duly signed by the class tutor) must be submitted to the hostel administration office.
  • Residents must obtain a token for any extra side dishes such as chicken, mutton, chilli gobi, omelet, egg, or mushroom fry.
  • Residents are not permitted to bring food from outside into the hostel.

Mess Timings:

  • Morning Tea: 6:00 am – 6:30 am
  • Breakfast: 7:30 am – 8:30 am
  • Lunch: 12:30 pm – 1:30 pm
  • Evening Tea: 5:00 pm – 5:45 pm
  • Dinner: 8:00 pm – 9:00 pm

Note: Non-vegetarian food is served three times a week, including Sundays.

Medical Center

SSEC Medical Centre within the campus provides comprehensive care and emergency services for students and staff members. It is well-equipped with all necessary medical aids and a team of skilled Medical officer and Staff nurse are available 24/7, ready to tackle any health challenge that comes the way. The facility is rightly placed for quick accessibility, benefitting hostel dwellers as well as dayscholars. With utmost care, the Centre ensures immediate attention in times of crisis.
