RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT

The Center for Research and Development (CRD) is established at SSEC in order to create an outstanding environment and ambiance for undertaking research, consultancy and entrepreneurial activities and to systematically channelize the related needs and requirements for attaining the set targets year by year. CRD will extend its continuous and fullest support to the faculty, students, researchers, budding entrepreneurs, start-up owners and alumni of SSEC so as to allow the research and scholarly developments to attain a productive outcome. In addition, CRD extends its wings of support in the following activities:

INCUBATION & START-UPS

The Incubation Centre and Start-ups predominantly promote innovation, research, and entrepreneurial activities in technology-based areas. It provides a platform for start-ups by young entrepreneurs to convert their innovative ideas into commercially viable products. It also provides services related to patenting and commercialization.

The college offers a wide range of programs, including five Diploma courses, nine Undergraduate engineering programs, 2 Postgraduate program (ME), and Doctoral research programs, all affiliated to Anna University and approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi. SSEC is also accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), reflecting its consistent pursuit of quality in education and institutional effectiveness.

  • Completed one consultancy project for Megatech Scientific Instruments (P) Limited, Coimbatore to a worth of Rs. 1, 24, 000/- under the title of “Automatic Switching of Power Supplies” in the academic year 2016-17.
Industry Interactions (14):
  • L&T Skill Development Training section, Coimbatore was visited five times during the academic year 2017-18. A proposal was submitted and is in the final stage, waiting for approval from the Mumbai Head office. Expected fund worth Rs. 11,50,000/- to be sanctioned in October 2020.
  • Dev Solar, Coimbatore was visited two times in the academic year 2017-18. Project batch students in the final year are identified for internship and one patent to be filed in the forthcoming semester along with industry collaboration.
  • Texmo Industries, Coimbatore was visited three times during the academic year 2018-19. Industrial visits to be arranged in the future.
  • Megatech Scientific Instruments Private Ltd, Coimbatore was visited seven times during 2017-18 & 2018-19. One patent completed under their supervision, consultancy work ongoing, and PDC inauguration in our campus planned with their help.
