India Marathon 2025
The India Marathon 2025, organized by Sree Sakthi Engineering College in Association with Metro Matriculation School and Rotary Mettupalayam, took place on January 5, 2025. The marathon's central theme of “Child Safety and a Drug-Free Future” aimed to raise awareness about child protection and the need to create a drug-free environment for future generations. The event saw over 2,500 participants joining the 8 km run from Sree Sakthi Engineering College to Metro Matriculation School.

The event was graced by several distinguished dignitaries, including respected Chairman Shri N. Dharmalingam, the visionary Correspondent Dr. S. Karthikeyan, the dedicated Principal Dr. G. Jayaprakash, the proactive Joint Correspondent Mr. K. Akilesh, the renowned CEO Dr. N. Prasannan, and the dynamic Dean Prof. P. Malarvizhi, alongside other delegates from Sree Sakthi Group of Companies and Metro School. The race was flagged off at 6:00 AM by the chief guest, Dr. C. Sylendra Babu, IPS (Retd.), former DGP/Head of Police Force, Tamil Nadu, who took the pledge with participants and symbolically waved the flag to begin the event.

The marathon featured Category A (Below Age 10), where young participants covered a 2 km route, promoting fitness and raising awareness about child safety. The route was carefully planned to ensure the safety and enjoyment of the children, with hydration stations and volunteers along the way to support them. For participants in Categories B (ages 11-18), C (ages 19-30), and D (above age 30), the 8 km route passed through the picturesque areas of Mettupalayam, offering a scenic and challenging path. Runners were well-supported with hydration stations and medical assistance along the way to ensure their safety and well-being.

Upon completing the race, the post-race ceremony at Sree Sakthi Engineering College celebrated the achievements of the top finishers, recognizing their efforts with exciting prizes, certificates, and medals. The first prize winner in each category received a LED TV, the second prize was a smartphone, and the third prize was a smartwatch, adding a competitive edge to the event.

The India Marathon 2025 concluded with the National Anthem, bringing together participants, volunteers, and dignitaries in a moment of patriotism and solidarity. This final act symbolized the collective commitment to the marathon's core values of health, fitness, child safety, and a drug-free future. The National Anthem underscored the sense of community responsibility in creating a safer, healthier, and more secure environment for future generations, making it a fitting conclusion to a day of inspiring efforts and social awareness.
